Akatsi (VR), May 11, GNA – Kingship Knowledge Academy at Akatsi in the Volta Region has urged students to remain disciplined, focused, and determined as they transition into the next stage of their academic journey.

The advice was given during the school’s ninth graduation ceremony held at Akatsi for 34 post Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates, made up of 14 boys and 20 girls.

Dr Paul Kwabla Afatsawu, a lecturer and academic counsellor at Akatsi College of Education, who served as the guest speaker, said success depended on hardwork, discipline honesty, and perseverance.

Speaking on the theme: “Sow Deeply into the Future for the Harvest,” he encouraged students to manage their time wisely, avoid negative peer influence and remain committed to their studies.

Dr Afatsawu cautioned against examination malpractice and other dishonest practices, saying such acts could negatively affect future success and integrity.

He appealed to parents to support and encourage their children while teachers continued to mentor students patiently to help them realise their potentials

Karim Umar Ayaana, the Municipal Director of Education for Akatsi South, in a keynote address, likened the graduating pupils to caterpillars preparing to transform into butterflies.

Using the topic “The Caterpillar Who Didn’t Want to Leave the leaf,”  Mr Ayaana said pupils were leaving the comfort of their school environment to embrace greater responsibilities at the Senior High School level.

Mr Ayaana noted that while Junior High School teachers guided students closely, Senior High School education would require greater self-discipline, independence and responsibility.

He urged the graduands to believe in themselves, work hard, and remain disciplined wherever they found themselves.

Mr Godson Tome, the school’s proprietor, congratulated the graduands on completing their Junior High School education despite various challenges.

He advised them to continue learning, build positive habits, and remain focused on their goals, stressing that success came through planning, discipline, and hard work rather than chance.

Mr Tome further urged students to respect their parents and uphold the values of the school wherever they found themselves, reminding them of the school anthem’s message to “Arise and Shine.”

He encouraged parents to remain responsible, supportive, and prayerful in raising their children, saying that the family, school, and church all play important roles in shaping the lives of young people.

Certificates and awards were presented to outstanding graduates and deserving staff members of the school in recognition of their hardwork and contributions towards academic excellence.

Kingship Knowledge Academy remains one of the top 10 Basic Schools in the Akatsi South Municipality.

The school, since its establishment in 2012, currently has a total teaching staff strength of 40.

Miss Adjardjah Jessica emerged as the overall best graduating pupil.
