Accra, May 6, GNA — Accra Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw by Karela United in a matchday 31 fixture of the 2025–26 Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The result keeps Hearts of Oak in third place on the league table with 50 points, six points behind leaders Medeama, with three matches remaining in the season.

The opening exchanges were cagey, but Hearts of Oak appeared the more threatening side in the final third but the Karela United defence remained resolute.

Despite Hearts’ dominance, it was their goalkeeper, Solomon Agbasi, who was called into action, producing a crucial save to deny Karela United striker Felix Mortu.

Hearts of Oak nearly broke the deadlock early in the second half when Gordon Cudjoe tested Karela goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu in the 47th minute, but his effort was well saved.

Moments later, Raphael Amponsah had a golden opportunity from the penalty spot, but once again Afadzwu stood firm to keep Karela United level.

Karela United grew into the game midway through the second half, taking control of play and creating the better openings as they pushed for a winner.

Hearts of Oak also had chances late in the game but lacked the composure needed to find the breakthrough as both sides settled for a point.

Hearts of Oak would conclude their league campaign with fixtures against Aduana FC, Samartex and Medeama in their remaining matches.
