COMOG extends felicitations to all Muslims

Accra, May 26, GNA-The Coalition of Muslim Organisations, Ghana (COMOG), has extended felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and  Ghanaians.

“Eid-ul-Adha reminds us of the unwavering faith, obedience, and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose submission to Allah remains one of the greatest examples of devotion in human history. Allah says in the Holy Qur’an: “And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.”

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said the sacred event teaches that true sacrifice is not merely about the outward ritual, but about sincerity, obedience, discipline, devotion, and placing Allah’s command above personal desires.

“Allah reminds us: It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him…”

It said Eid-ul-Adha also called for renewal of commitment to taqwa, righteousness, selflessness, and service.

“ COMOG urges Muslims, families, community leaders, scholars, chiefs, opinion leaders, and political leaders to reflect these values in our homes, communities, workplaces, and public life.

“We call on parents to nurture children with Islamic values, discipline, education, love, and moral responsibility and urge community and religious leaders to promote unity, justice, compassion, peace, and development above personal interests”.

They also  called on political leaders and public office holders to embrace honesty, accountability, integrity, and selfless service for the good of Ghana.

“Eid-ul-Adha must not end with the festivities. Its lessons should guide our daily lives and challenge each of us to ask: What sacrifice am I making for my family, my community, and my nation?

It said Ghana needed unity, discipline, compassion, and responsible leadership and therefore called on all Muslims and citizens of Ghana to uphold the values of faith, sacrifice, justice, service, and unity as we work together to build stronger families, stronger communities, and a more peaceful and prosperous Ghana.

“May Allah accept our sacrifices, forgive our shortcomings, strengthen our faith, and bless Ghana with peace, unity, and prosperity.”
