Sunyani, (Bono), May 19, GNA -Mr Vincent Antwi Agyei, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive has commended two contractors executing various roads in the municipality, under the government’s ‘Big Push’ road infrastructure programme for quality works.
The contractors are Kofi Job Construction Limited executing the 34-kilometer Sunyani Outer Ring Road and Alexiboam Constructions Limited, constructing the Sunyani-Ntotroso Road projects.
Mr Agyei gave the commendation when he gave an update on the road construction projects in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani.
“We have cleared the contractor and very soon Kofi Job will start asphalting sections of the outer ring road project,” he stated and assured the government dedication to complete all those road projects under the ‘Big Push’.
The MCE also touched on the dualization of the Sunyani-Abesim Road project which had been stalled for some time now, explaining that the municipal assembly initiated that road project and was funded by the central government.
However, Mr Agyei expressed worry that some permanent buildings and structures which had been affected by the road construction works were yet to be demolished and thereby delaying the execution of the project.
Mr Agyei said the President had assured that the construction work on the Sunyani Inner Ring Road projects would also be commenced later this year and urged the people to maintain their confidence in the government.
He said the deplorable conditions of access roads in the Sunyani township, including Sunyani Newtown, Baakoniaba, Kotokrom and Abinga roads, were being reshaped.
