Dormaa-Ahenkro (Bono), May, 8, GNA – Nana Kumi Agyemang, the Public Relations Officer at the Dormaa Central Municipal Directorate of Education has lauded stakeholders’ contributions towards stemming examination malpractices in the on-going Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Municipality.
He said with the support and cooperation of the stakeholders, the Municipality had not recorded any malpractices and irregularities since the BECE started in the Municipality on Monday May 4, 2026.
“We have an enviable record of not recording any examination malpractices or irregularities”, Mr Agyemang told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region.
Nonetheless, he warned that: “Any teacher or security officer who will be found engaging in examination malpractices will be dismissed outrightly”.
He said a total of 2,335 candidates comprising 1,199 males and 1,136 females drawn from 73 public and private schools were writing the examination across the nine designated centers in the municipality.
Mr Agyemang explained that nine supervisors and 10 assistant supervisors were also overseeing the smooth conduct of the BECE, saying that 402 candidates from eight schools were writing French and 61 candidates from two schools were writing Arabic.
“In fact, we are yet to get a full report about the exact number of absentees”, he stated.
