Duayaw-Nkwanta, (Ahafo), April 06, GNA-Mr Richard Gyamera, the Registrar at the Suaman Dadieso Traditional Council in the Western North Region, has called on wealthy citizens to support government’s efforts to improve the nation’s health facilities.
He explained that such support to improve the health facilities would help meet the growing health demand needs of the citizenry.
Mr Gyamera noted that the government alone could not shoulder the responsibility of addressing the emerging health needs of the populace, saying that, “As citizens, it’s also our responsibility to contribute toward achieving desirable health outcomes.”
Mr Gyamera, a native of Duayaw-Nkwanta in the Tano North Municipality of the Ahafo Region, made the call when he presented five pieces of a three-in-one Outpatient Department (OPD) furniture to the Duayaw-Nkwanta Health Center.
He explained that he visited the facility some time back and realised the appalling condition at the OPD which inspired him to buy the furniture.
Mr Gyamera regretted that the conditions of many health facilities in rural communities were not the best, and therefore urged community members to also contribute their widow’s mite in improving health facilities.
“It isn’t only unfortunate, but unacceptable for patients to stand for hours when they visit public health facilities for medical care,” Mr Gyamera stated, and pledged to re-paint the Duayaw-Nkwanta Health Centre.
