Techiman residents excited about cabinet decision to reduce fuel prices

Techiman, (Bono East) April 10, GNA-A cross section of residents in Techiman, the Bono East regional capital, has welcomed Cabinet’s intervention to reduce fuel prices with hopes and excitement. 
 
They said reducing fuel prices at the pumps was necessary to improve their socio-economic livelihoods. 
 
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview on Friday, Mr Kofi Baba, a businessman noted that increment in fuel price affected everything, worrying that many people were now complaining about the present economic condition in the country. 
 
“The emergency Cabinet meeting shows that the government is sensitive to addressing emerging economic challenges in the country,” he stated. 
 
Mr Solomon Awini, an entrepreneur and a teacher, said he was excited about the government’s decision to reduce fuel prices, saying that doing so would push business growth and economic development. 
 
A fashion designer, Mrs Francisca Gyan Ameyaw, also commended the government for what she described as a giant step, urging the government to also do something about the high electricity tariffs and to sustain business operations. 
 
Madam Gifty Oforiwaa, a caterer also could not hide her joy, stating that: “Once fuel prices are decreased the present economic burden of the ordinary Ghanaian will also be lessen.” 
 
She commended the government and expressed the hope that the decrease in prices of fuel would manifest in the reduction in the price of basic food items and transport fares and that would improve the quality of life of the masses.
