Accra, April 2, GNA — Reverend Vincent Dagadu, Senior Clergyman of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has called on Christians, particularly those in leadership, to uphold moral values, integrity, and servant leadership as they celebrate Easter.
In an Easter goodwill message, he said the season remained one of the most significant celebrations in the Christian calendar, marking God’s gift of salvation to humanity through Jesus Christ.
He said through the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God had reconciled humanity to Himself, restoring the broken relationship caused by sin and offering believers hope for eternal life and a new beginning.
“Easter is the foundation of the Christian faith and a reminder of God’s ultimate love and sacrifice for mankind,” he stated.
Rev. Dagadu, who is the Parish Pastor of E.P Church, Trinity Parish, Madina noted that while Easter was originally a purely religious observance, it had over time evolved to influence various aspects of society, including cultural and community development activities.
He said the period was often used by communities to organise gatherings involving chiefs and elders to discuss development projects, while families also used the occasion to reunite, settle differences and strengthen bonds.
The clergyman urged Christians in positions of
“Leaders must reflect Christ’s humility and integrity, ensuring that their conduct positively impacts those they lead,” he said.
Rev. Dagadu expressed concern about the rising levels of immorality, particularly among the youth, and called on leaders in religious, political, and civil society spaces to set high moral standards for the younger generation to emulate.
He emphasised the need to promote strong moral values and responsible living as part of the Christian witness.
“As we commemorate Good Friday and celebrate Easter, let us reflect on the true meaning of this sacred occasion,” he added.
He explained that Easter symbolised hope, renewal, and salvation and urged Christians to emulate the example of Jesus Christ by showing love, compassion, and forgiveness to one another.
Rev. Dagadu said the resurrection of Christ should inspire believers to live purposeful and resilient lives, anchored on faith and hope.
He wished all Christians a peaceful and blessed Easter, urging them to allow the message of the season to rekindle hope, forgiveness, sacrifice, and the love of God in their lives.
