Accra, April 10, GNA – Ghanaian stand-up comedian Oh Joo says audiences should expect a dramatically elevated experience when his comedy show Turd Talks returns on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra.
Speaking ahead of the event, Oh Joo said Turd Talks has evolved into a carefully curated performance that blends comedy, storytelling and theatrical expression, offering audiences a deeper and more enjoyable experience.
“This edition is a clear evolution of the experience. It’s not just about stand-up anymore. It’s a curated blend of comedy, storytelling and performance. The audience should expect something that feels less like a lineup and more like a journey,” he told GNA Entertainment.
The show’s title, Turd Talks, Oh Joo explained, is intentionally designed to challenge comfort zones while encouraging honesty and free expression.
“The name represents the uncomfortable, the unfiltered and the often-ignored aspects of everyday life.
“The ‘Turd’ word indirectly means ‘talk your mind.’ It reflects reality, sometimes messy, imperfect, but honest,” he said.
Beyond entertainment, Oh Joo believes comedy platforms like Turd Talks play a critical role in strengthening Ghana’s creative arts industry by providing space for experimentation and visibility for emerging talent.
“Comedy events like this create opportunities for new talents to be seen while attracting audiences, sponsors and collaborators.
“They contribute to cultural dialogue and help position comedy as a serious and viable part of the creative economy,” he said.
The upcoming comedy show, lines up some of the best stand-up artist including Jeneral Ntatia, Papa Yaw, Dr Sas, Dwomoh, Kwame Obed, Bernard the Magician and would be hosted by Clemento Suarez.
