Dzodze (V/R), July 5, GNA – Torgbui Ege IV, Divisonal Chief of Fiagbedu, has been named Acting President of the Dzodze Traditional Council and has pledged to uphold transparency, accountability, fairness and inclusiveness in the administration of the Council.

His appointment follows a decision by the Volta Regional House of Chiefs to institute an interim rotational leadership arrangement for the Council pending the installation of a substantive Paramount Chief.

Torgbui Ege IV, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that his administration would be guided by openness, accountability and respect for due process.

“I pledge to lead with transparency, fairness, and inclusiveness. I will ensure that the affairs of the Council is conducted in the best interest of the people of Dzodze.”

He said the affairs of the Traditional Council would be conducted openly and in accordance with due process to promote unity, peace and development in the area.

Torgbui Ege IV appealed to chiefs, queen mothers, elders, the youth, women and all sons and daughters of Dzodze to support the Council in advancing the area’s development agenda.

He expressed confidence that with collective commitment and cooperation, the Council would continue to serve as a symbol of effective traditional leadership and good governance.

A letter signed on behalf of the President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and addressed to the Registrar of the Dzodze Traditional Council, indicated that the decision followed a meeting of the House’s Research Committee and members of the Dzodze Traditional Council.

It explained that the Dzodze Traditional Area comprised three wings namely, Ablorme, Fiagbedu and Adagbledu.

The house had adopted the rotational arrangement for the office of Acting President, with each wing serving a 12-month term until a substantive Paramount Chief is installed.

Under the arrangement, Torgbui Ege IV represents the Fiagbedu Wing, while Togbi Esoh IV and Togbi Avokliya III represent the Adagbledu and Ablorme wings, respectively.

The Volta Regional House of Chiefs said the rotational system was intended to ensure continuity in the administration of the Traditional Council and strengthen traditional governance in the area.
