Hohoe (V/R), April 23, GNA – The Hohoe Municipal Assembly has adopted recommendations for the reconstitution of its Sub-Committees and elected convenors for the various committees.
The Sub-Committees include Justice and Security, Works, Public Relations and Complaint Committee (PRCC), Finance and Administration, Social Services, Development Planning and Agriculture.
The Assembly also elected Daniel Gbemu and Gladys Fiagbedzi as Assembly representatives to the Executive Committee.
Speaking to the media after the Special Meeting of the Third Session of the 9th Hohoe Municipal Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Prosper Kumi, said the meeting was a statutory requirement.
He disclosed that additional Sub-Committees, including sanitation, sports and tourism, would be created to complement the existing ones.
Mr Kumi explained that the reconstituted Sub-Committees were expected to work at the grassroots level to identify and address real issues affecting residents, particularly in key areas such as social welfare.
He said the committees would hold meetings and make recommendations to guide decision-making, noting that the Assembly’s work was grounded in community-level concerns.
Mr Kumi emphasised that collaboration between the Assembly and the Sub-Committees was essential for effective development planning.
The Presiding Member, Rafui Adam, noted that all meetings would be conducted in line with the Assembly’s Standing Orders.
