Accra, April 23, GNA –The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has commenced an inspection and licence renewal exercise for food, beverage and entertainment enterprises across the Greater Accra Region.
The initiative, which began on Monday, April 20, 2026, was part of efforts to ensure facilities complied with public health, safety and operational standards, while safeguarding the wellbeing of patrons and the public.
A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency said the exercise would cover a wide range of establishments, including traditional catering enterprises, commonly known as chop bars, food vendors, drinking bars, pubs, fast food joints, snack bars and outdoor catering services.
The Authority urged operators to cooperate fully with inspectors, noting that authorised personnel would carry valid identification cards for verification.
It also encouraged businesses to ensure that licences and operational documents were up to date ahead of the inspection.
The GTA reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards within the tourism and hospitality industry to enhance service delivery and public safety.
