Accra, Mar. 03, GNA—Mr. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has emphasized the importance of discipline, loyalty, and strategic focus as the party gears up for the 2028 elections. He said, “Discipline means yielding where you have to yield.” For the greater good of the group in accordance with the rules and regulations.”

Addressing some TESCON executives in Parliament on Tuesday, Mr. Afenyo-Markin also highlighted the party’s centre-right ideology that championed free enterprise, human rights, and individual potential.

As a result, he stressed the need for effective communication, urging the executives to proactively shape the narrative and counter misinformation on key issues like cocoa pricing and government initiatives.

“The days when we left the campuses to NDC to do propaganda are over,” the Minority leader declared, calling on the Tescon executives to face opponents with facts and confidence.

On the economic front, Mr. Afenyo-Markin, also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu, highlighted the party’s achievements in education and health, including Free Senior High School (SHS) and National Health Insurance, and challenged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to showcase their social interventions since 1993.

He emphasized the party’s role in discovering oil in commercial quantities in Ghana, contrasting it with the NDC’s response.

In a call to spiritual action, the Minority leader urged Tescon executives to make prayer a habit, citing instances where prayer helped the party overcome challenges in the past.

“Let us remember our God, dear executives,” the leader said, encouraging them to incorporate prayer into their daily routine as the party prepares for the 2028 elections.

Nana Asafo‑Adjei Ayeh, NPP MP for Bosome-Freho, urged the Tescon leaders to deepen their knowledge and intellectual engagement with party policies and ideologies.

“Be focused on substance over style and be well-versed in the party’s stance on current issues,” he advised.
