Jomoro MP builds six-unit classroom block for Arvo Nwiah basic school at Forest-Junction

Forest -Junction (W/R), March 03, GNA- Madam Dorcas Afo-Toffey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro has funded the construction of an ultra-modern state-of-the-art six-unit classroom block for the Nana Arvo Nwiah Basic School at Forest- Junction near Tikobo No 2. 

The move followed an appeal by the community to the MP during a tour of the area to build a new classroom block for them and move their children from the wooden structure used as makeshift classroom. 

The newly constructed classroom block is expected to be handed over to the Ghana Education Service (GES) as the contractor hands over the structure to the community in a matter of two weeks. 

In an interview with media during a tour of the area, Madam Afo-Toffey said she was deeply touched by the poor state of the wooden classroom block and single-handedly funded the six-unit classroom block to secure their future as education is very dear to her heart. 

The ultra-modern classroom block comprises offices for the staff and six-unit toilet facilities for the pupils. 

 The MP hinted that laptops would provide to enhance 21st century skills and competencies. 

Madam Afo-Toffey underscored the importance of education in the life of a child saying it was the gateway to unlock future potentials. 

The MP who is also the Deputy Minister of Transport said with a population of over 10,000 in the scattered communities, they deserved a modernized classroom block to pave way for education to change fortunes of children in the area who are prospective future leaders of the country.
