Krachi East MP extends International Women’s Day greetings to women

Dambai (O/R), March 8, GNA – Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Krachi East Constituency, has extended his warmest International Women’s Day greetings to women across the globe, particularly those serving in Ghana’s parliament as MPs. 

In a statement, Mr Djabab expressed his appreciation for the tireless efforts of women in Parliament, including Madam Milicent Amankwah, Madam Helen Adwoa Ntoso, Madam Faustina Akurugu, Madam Rita Odoley Sowah, Madam Joycelyn Tetteh, Madam Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings, Madam Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansah, Madam Joan Gyan Cudjoe, and Madam Dorcas Toffeh, saying their contributions had been instrumental in sustaining democracy in Ghana. 

He acknowledged the crucial role women played in shaping the country’s development and commended their dedication to public service, noting that women’s participation in politics had brought diverse perspectives and experiences to the table, enriching the decision-making process. 

The MP also extended his greetings to women in his constituency, including his women’s organiser, Hajia Usman Aishatu, her deputy, Madam Bernice Dordoe, Madam Agnes Babayi, the branch women’s organiser, and all women in Krachi East he served.  

Mr Djabab expressed his gratitude for their loyalty and support and reaffirmed his commitment to working with them to address issues affecting women and the community. 

Mr Djabab’s message highlighted the importance of recognizing and celebrating the contributions of women to national development and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting women’s empowerment initiatives in his constituency and beyond.  

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he emphasised the need for continued efforts to promote gender equality and empower women to take up leadership positions in various sectors, calling on all stakeholders to work together to create a society that values and supports the contributions of women. 

The statement was seen as a gesture of solidarity with women, and a reflection of Mr Djabab’s commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality in Ghana.
