Akatsi (V/R), July 28, GNA – Residents of the Wuxor, Have and Sremanu Electoral Area in the Akatsi South Municipality are expected to enjoy improved mobile network services following the arrival of materials for the construction of a telecommunications network pole at Sremanu.
The project marked a significant milestone towards addressing the longstanding mobile network challenges affecting Sremanu and its surrounding communities.
Mr Japhet Festus Gbede, Assemblymember for the area, disclosed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that construction works were expected to commence in the coming days.
He said the project would bring renewed hope to residents who had endured poor mobile network connectivity for years.
Mr Gbede said the initiative would improve communication across the beneficiary communities.
He noted that it would also boost economic activities, expand access to digital services and support teaching and learning.
Mr Gbede further stated that the improved network infrastructure would further strengthen emergency response and enhance the overall socio-economic development of the area.
He attributed the progress to sustained advocacy, constructive engagement and effective collaboration among key stakeholders.
Mr Gbede said the achievement demonstrated that committed leadership and collective efforts could deliver meaningful development.
“This marks another important step in our determination to ensure that the people of Wuxor, Have and Sremanu enjoy the benefits of modern communication infrastructure,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to Mr Bernard Ahiafor, the MP for Akatsi South and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Mr Daniel Dagba, the Akatsi South Municipal Chief Executive.
He said the contributions of the stakeholders had been instrumental in bringing the project to fruition.
Mr Gbede reaffirmed his commitment to championing initiatives that would improve the living conditions of residents.
He said his vision of making the Area a model of development was steadily becoming a reality.
Residents of Sremanu and surrounding communities have for years experienced poor mobile network coverage and have since expressed excitement over the gesture.
The challenge has affected communication, business activities, access to online services and emergency communication.
