Kadjebi (O/R), March 25, GNA – Members of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region, have resumed work following a directive from the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Association.
The NEC, in a letter dated March 17, 2026, instructed members nationwide to return to their posts while giving the government a two-week ultimatum to address their concerns.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) on its visit to the Kadjebi District Assembly premises on Tuesday, March 24, observed staff actively engaged in their official duties, attending to clients and clearing backlogs that accumulated during the industrial action.
Mr Emmanuel Doe, the Kadjebi CLOGSAG Chairman, confirmed in an interview with the GNA, that members were complying fully with the NEC’s directive.
He explained that the decision to resume work was taken in good faith to allow space for dialogue with government authorities, while maintaining pressure for a timely resolution of their grievances.
Mr Doe expressed optimism that the government would respond positively within the stipulated two-week period to avert further disruptions to public service delivery.
He urged members to remain united and committed as leadership continues engagements aimed at securing improved conditions of service.
The resumption of work had brought relief to residents and stakeholders in the district, who depended on the services of the Assembly for administrative and developmental activities.
The National Executive Council of CLOGSAG, in a letter dated March 5, 2026, and titled “Declaration of Nationwide Strike,” directed all members to stay off work effective Monday, March 9, after the government failed to implement the Association’s demands.
The action has affected operations in several public institutions where CLOGSAG members work, including district assemblies, Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit, DoFA, Social Welfare and Community Development Unit, and other government establishments.
