Tehran, March 10, (dpa/GNA) – High-ranking Iranian official Ali Larijani, has responded to new threats from US President Donald Trump with a warning.
He wrote on X on Tuesday that Tehran is not afraid of threats, and that even larger nations have not been able to destroy Iran. “Watch out yourself that you are not wiped out,” wrote Larijani, who is secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.
Trump had previously threatened significantly harsher attacks if the Iranian leadership were to obstruct oil trade through the Strait of Hormuz.
“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far,” Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social.
“Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again. Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them — But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen!”
