Accra, March 30, GNA – Accra Hearts of Oak fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Swedru All Blacks on Sunday as both Hearts and rivals Asante Kotoko slipped further behind in the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League (GPL) title race.
Medeama SC reclaimed the top spot earlier in week 27 after a 2-0 victory against relegation-bound Eleven Wonders, adding pressure to other title contenders with seven matches to end the season.
Swedru All Blacks struck twice in the first half through Rudolf Mensah and William Danquah after capitalising on defensive errors at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts responded after the break, with Mawuli Wayo and Frank Duku scoring to earn a point. The result extended Hearts’ winless run to five matches and left them six points off the top.
Aduana FC and Asante Kotoko played out a cagey 0-0 draw in Dormaa. Aduana controlled possession and created more chances but failed to capitalise, leaving both clubs unable to close the gap at the top.
Dreams FC strengthened their recent resurgence with a 3-0 win over struggling Hohoe United in Tema. Goals from Aminu Adams, Suraj Seidu and Abdul Razak Salifu secured a straightforward victory and pushed Hohoe deeper into relegation danger.
Young Apostles improved their survival prospects with a 3-0 home win over Heart of Lions in Wenchi. Claude Shooting Bortei scored twice in the first half before Richmond Opoku added a third.
In Tamale, Karela United shocked leaders Bibiani Gold Stars 2-0, with first-half goals from Mohammed Awal Alhassan and Felix Mortu ending Gold Stars’ brief stay at the top and tightening the battle for the title.
Bechem United earned a 2-1 away win over FC Samartex in Samreboi. Early goals from Samuel Okai and Yaw Annor proved decisive despite a late first-half reply from the hosts.
Nations FC preserved their unbeaten home record with a 1-1 draw against Berekum Chelsea. Samuel Tenadu put Chelsea ahead before Brandon Antwi equalised late on.
