Takoradi, March 30, GNA -The Takoradi District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has reiterated the need for Ghanaians to become good stewards of creation and the environment.
Ghanaians, the church noted could not continue to disappoint God through bad environmental practices, hence the need to collectively embark on environmental protection and cleanliness.
Reverend Dr. Dwamena Asirifi, District Pastor, who led the Church in a clean-up exercise at selected transport stations within the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis said, it was about time Ghana put in place good waste management systems…” we need to rethink the way we manage our waste.”
He said the Church was also providing waste bins, at the various stations to promote environmental safety.


“In our strategic plan, we want to visit hospitals, communities, where our churches are and also advance on environmental cleanliness education…this is our social responsibility, clean environment for a healthy living”.
He admonished Ghanaians that God was in fact not happy with the way human activities kept destroying nature and called for a change.
Donating the bins to the Accra Station Manager, Rev. Dr. Asirifi urged the drivers to collectively improve road safety indicators, provide in car bins for passengers to avoid splashing waste on the roadsides.
Mr Christopher Quarm, a leader at the Accra Station thanked the Presbyterian church for the kind gesture.
He noted how challenging it was to manage waste at the terminals and pledged their commitment to work on good environmental practices.
