Ho, March 23, GNA-Dr Wisdom Dogbey, Managing Director of Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), has donated food items and cash to Muslims in Ho to support Eid celebrations.
The gesture, made at the Volta Regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), followed an appeal by Mr Mawutor Agbavitor, the Regional Chairman.
The donation, which took place on Sunday March 22, formed part of efforts to assist the Muslim community as they marked the Eid festivities.
Mr Agbavitor explained that he reached out to Dr Dogbey to inform him about the upcoming celebrations and invited him, as a proud son of the region, to lend on for support.
“True to his word, he responded without hesitation, coming not only to offer support but also to engage meaningfully with the people,” he said.
Dr Dogbey presented items including rice, cooking oil and an undisclosed amount of cash to the Muslim Zongo caucus coordinators to facilitate the celebrations.
During the interaction, Zongo coordinators from the various constituencies shared challenges confronting their communities, ranging from limited resources to sustaining outreach activities.
Dr Dogbey offered guidance and encouragement and assured them of his willingness to support their efforts whenever possible.
He noted that leadership went beyond holding positions and required responsiveness and commitment to the needs of the people.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, and said it would go a long way to support Eid celebrations and community initiatives.
