Accra, March 20, GNA—The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kings University College (KUC), accrediting it as a study centre.

Under the agreement, the university college is authorised to offer programmes aligned with CIMG’s professional standards and curriculum, providing students and professionals access to recognised marketing qualifications.

Professor Albert A. Addo-Quaye, President of KUC, said at the signing ceremony that the collaboration created a pathway for students to attain chartered status.

“This is something we will actively encourage. We see this as a truly beneficial arrangement, and we are fully committed to fulfilling every obligation that comes with it,” he said.

Prof. Addo-Quaye said the accreditation would enable students to pursue professional marketing training within a structured academic environment.

He said it would equip them with the knowledge, skills and practical insights required to thrive in a competitive business landscape.

Mr Michael Abbiw, National President of CIMG, highlighted the potential of the partnership to bridge the gap between academic training and industry readiness.

“By integrating CIMG’s professional marketing qualification into the Kings University College experience, a student can begin their degree and attain their professional certifications within the same four years.

“This directly addresses the gap we keep hearing that graduates are not industry-ready. When you balance academic training with professional certification, you close that gap,” he said.

Mr Abbiw said the opportunity extended beyond marketing students to those studying journalism, sociology, information studies and other disciplines, as marketing cut across industries.

“I look forward to a collaboration that transforms how we develop the next generation of marketing professionals in Ghana,” he said.
