Accra, Feb. 26, GNA – The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the second series of provisional results for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates.

A statement issued in Accra on Thursday said the entire results of 349 candidates and subject results of 496 candidates alleged to have engaged in examination malpractices had been withheld.

The statement, signed by Mr John K. Kapi, Head of Public Affairs, said: “these malpractices include collusion, impersonation, bringing in foreign materials into examination halls and seeking external assistance among others.”

It said, “the withheld results of candidates will be released or cancelled based on the outcome of investigators.” The statement said the results were available online at www.waecgh.org. It said candidates whose results had been withheld should visit http://irreg.waec.org or click on the withheld/cancelled button on the home page.

“They will be redirected to the irregularity and investigations page. This page will display the reason for withholding the results. Candidates will receive information on the next line of action,” it said.

The statement cautioned the public to be wary of scammers who might contact candidates and promise to upgrade their results for a fee payable through mobile money transfers.

“Candidates are to note that WAEC results database is well secured and all results can be authenticated,” the statement said.

It urged institutions and organisations to confirm or verify results presented to them directly from WAEC or access the confirmation/verification service online via the Council’s website.
