Bechem, (Ahafo), May 29, GNA-Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the Ahafo Region, has lauded Muslims’ peaceful co-existence with Christians in the country.

He said the friendly relationship between Muslims and Christians had deepened national unity and stability.

Mr Frimpong gave the commendation when he addressed Muslims at a gathering to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration at Bechem, and urged them to support the development of the municipality.

He emphasised the government’s dedication to improve the quality of lives of Muslims and urged them to remain tolerant and continue to live peaceably.

Mr Frimpong said; “The peaceful relationship and co-existence between Muslims and Christians demonstrates that Ghana remains a peaceful nation”, saying that conflicts and religious tensions would only drawback development.

He said the municipality was also benefiting from the government socio-economic interventions programmes like the Feed Ghana, Nkoko Nkenkete and the Big Push Road Infrastructure programmes and many others.

Mr Frimpong reminded the Muslims that the implementation of those programmes would be meaningless without their support and cooperation.

He urged the Muslim youth to take advantage of some of those programmes and better their lots.
