Awutu Bawjiase (C/R), Feb 27, GNA- Madam Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu-Senya-West Constituency, has officially handed over a newly constructed Child welfare Centre and a renovated Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Zone to the chiefs and people of Awutu Papaase.
She also cut the sod for the construction of an ultra-modern dormitory blocks at Bawjiase and Obrachire Senior High Schools (SHS) and presented 400 modern chairs and tables to Bawjiase SHS.
Madam Tetteh-Agbotui was accompanied by Mr Eghan Kalala Nyamekye, Awutu-Senya District Chief Executive (DCE) and officials ftom the District Assembly and health directorate.


The Child Welfare Center facility is expected to enhance maternal and child healthcare services, improve immunization coverage and create more conducive environment for quality healthcare delivery to other surrounding communities as well.
The furniture to Bawjiase SHS and construction of the dormitory at the above-mentioned schools are to improve classroom comfort and enhance the teaching and learning environment.
They formed part of a broader agenda of the District Assembly to expand educational infrastructure, reduce congestion and contribute to improved academic performance, discipline and student welfare.
Addressing the students during the ceremonies, Madam Tetteh-Agbotui urged them to remain focused, disciplined, respectful and dedicated to their studies, emphasising that education remained the surest pathway to personal growth, leadership and national development.
Mr Kalala Eghan reaffirmed his office’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that SHS institutions in the district became models of excellence in Central Region.
He assured stakeholders that the Assembly would continue to prioritise initiatives at promoting quality education, youth empowerment and sustainable development.
Nai Osardu III, Chief of Awutu Bawjiase, applauded the MP and the government for what he described as “impactful and transformative projects.”


He praised Madam Tetteh-Agbotui for being a listening and responsive MP who prioritised the needs of her people.
He called on citizens of Awutu and Senya to rally behind the MP and President John Dramani Mahama for the district to benefit even more from the National Democratic Congress government’s development agenda.
The School Authorities and the District Health Director also expressed their profound appreciation to the DCE, the MP and the NDC government for responding to their infrastructural and other needs.
They pledged to maintain the facility properly as well as the tables and chairs to prolong their life span for the benefits of both present and future generations.
