Tema, Feb. 6, GNA — Africa Star Fisheries Company Limited and Laif Fisheries Company Limited have jointly supported Gina’s Angel School, a private basic school at Tema Manhean, with a total cash donation of GH¢100,000 and five computers with accessories.
Each company presented a cheque of GH¢50,000 to the school to support teaching and learning, particularly in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The donation is expected to significantly enhance ICT literacy among pupils and help bridge the digital divide at the school.
Mr Wang Guoliang, Chairman of Africa Star Fisheries Company Limited, who presented the items, said the gesture was aimed at promoting ICT education and creating a technology-enabled learning environment for both pupils and teachers.


He explained that computers would serve as tools for research and practical ICT lessons, ultimately improving pupils’ academic performance.
Mr Richster Nii Amarh Amarfio, Country Director of Laif Fisheries Company Limited, stressed the importance of practical ICT education in preparing pupils for the fast-evolving technological world.
He said the donation formed part of the companies’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and assured that similar support would be extended to other communities within their operational areas.
Madam Georgina Adjoa Rockson, Proprietress of Gina’s Angel School, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the donor companies for their generosity and continued support.
She assured that the donations would be put to good use to enhance teaching and learning outcomes at the school.
Madam Rockson also appealed to both local and international organisations to support the school’s infrastructure development projects to further improve the quality of education offered.
