Dambai (O/R), Feb 6, GNA- The Governing Council of Dambai College of Education (DACE), has appointed Dr Fred Alpha Adams as Acting Vice Principal for a six-month term effectively.
Mr John Majisi, Chairman of the Council said the move was part of efforts to restore normalcy and ensure smooth governance at the College.
The move follows tensions on the campus, with the “Abuamang-Acha Aberor” youth wing protesting against the current principal, Dr. Benedicta Awusi Atiku.
Mr Majisi addressing the youth wing at the DACE conference hall, revealed that the council has already engaged with the Minister of Education who has approved the appointment of Dr Adams as Acting Vice principal in day-to-day administration.
The Chairman appealed for calm and patience, saying the council is working on allegations levelled against the principal and hoping to release their findings when done.
At the end of their engagement, the Chairman advised “Abuamang-Acha Aberor” youth wing to remove red bands blocking entrances and offices on the campus.
Mr Johnathan Akpabe, spokesperson for the youth wing and his team, have agreed to remove the bands but insist that the principal must be investigated before resuming her position.
