Dzodze (V/R), Feb. 19, GNA – The Afife and Weta Zones of the Ketu North Constituency is set to complete the first-year 500-youth apprenticeship target, initiated by Mr Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for the area.

The second phase of the Skills and Apprenticeship Programme is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, at the Dekpor D/A Primary School Park. It will see more than 200 young people from the Afife and Weta Zones enrolled in various vocational trades.

This follows the successful first phase held on January 2, during which over 250 young people from the Dzodze and Penyi Zones were enrolled in direct apprenticeship training.

With the upcoming enrolment, the programme is expected to meet its projected first-year target of 500 beneficiaries.

The initiative forms part of Mr Agbana’s commitment to promoting practical skills development and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth in the constituency.

The MP has indicated that apprenticeship fees for all beneficiaries will be fully funded, and the necessary tools and equipment required for their training will also be provided.

He described the intervention as a practical empowerment strategy aimed at equipping young people with employable skills and sustainable sources of income.

Mr Osman Abdulai Ayariga, Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, is expected to grace the occasion as Special Guest.
