Adaklu Waya (V/R), Feb. 17, GNA – Two new Queens, a Warlord and a linguist have out-doored at a colourful ceremony amidst pomp and pageantry at Adaklu Waya.
The Queens are Mama Dzakuia III, 63, an Administrator, Queen of Adaklu Waya, Mama Kalesi I, 31, a teacher, Sub queen, Togbe Addo V, 35, businessman, Awafia (Warlord) and Tsiami Hoewanu I, 31, a farmer, sub linguist.
Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister speaking at the ceremony, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the Chieftaincy institution as a strategic partner in national development.
He urged traditional authorities to protect the sanctity of the Chieftaincy institution.
Mr Gunu praised the Adaklu Traditional Area for the peaceful coexistence and urged citizens to jealousy guard it, adding, “peace is a prerequisite for the growth and development of the country.”
He entreated the new chief and queens to work hard to bring more development to the area to justify the confidence reposed in them by the kingmakers.


Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE) urged the chiefs to work in tandem with the youth and other identifiable groups to turn the economic fortunes of the area around.
He called on the youth to accord traditional authorities with the needed respect, support, and encouragement.
Mr Ameko assured the chiefs of his support and collaboration for the speedy development of the area.
“I will tap into the reservoir of knowledge of my respected chiefs and queens for the accelerated development of Adaklu,” he noted.
Mama Dzakuia, known in private life as Mrs Esther Adra Beke on behalf of her colleagues, pledged to uphold the sanctity of the culture and tradition of the Chieftaincy institution and the land.
She said they would work to improve the economic and development of fortunes of the people and appealed f9r cooperation from all citizens.
