Kumasi Jan. 22, GNA – The Word of Truth and Prayer (TWOTAP) mission, has launched a social service programme, aim at uplifting the underprivileged Christians and non-Christians in society, particularly widows and orphans.‎

The initiative christened, ‘Care for Widows and Orphans’ commenced last year, and has since successfully provided assistance to 2,000 individuals requiring immediate support for their livelihoods with a total of GHS 800,000.00.

Each beneficiary is receiving an amount of GHC 400.00 a month, from the project to facilitate their daily sustenance until they achieve self-sufficiency.‎

Evangelist Francis Awusi, General Overseer of TWOTAP, told the GNA after the launch that, he received divine revelation urging him to urgently aid the less fortunate in society through his ministry.‎

He explained that it was under this divine inspiration that he, alongside the leadership of the mission, resolved to embark on this charitable endeavour.‎

He said this initiative would not only elevate the spiritual lives of its members but would also enhance their overall well-being.

Evangelist Awusi noted that, many individuals harboured the misconception that some men of God exploited their congregants for financial gain, however, he affirmed that this was not the case.‎

He emphasised that prior to qualifying for assistance, the individual would undergo thorough evaluation by an independent body to ascertain their true need.‎

He urged beneficiaries to avoid complacency in light of the financial aid provided to them each month, encouraging them instead to actively seek employment to sustain their livelihoods.‎

He called upon individuals and corporate entities to contribute towards the sustainability of the initiative.

He however, underscored that the centre would not accept support from individuals engaged in money rituals or fraudulent activities.‎

The General Overseer cautioned individuals on social media to remain vigilant against those who misused his name to solicit funds, asserting that he neither engaged in such practices nor will he ever do so.‎
