Atebubu, (Bono East) Jan. 25, GNA-Mrs Irene Naa Torshie Addo, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema West has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to vote for Presidential hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong when they go to polls on Saturday, January 31.
Describing him as kindhearted, courageous, and trustworthy, she said Mr Agyapong, former Assin Central MP “is the kind of leader Ghana needs now”.
The largest opposition NPP is set for its Election 2028 Presidential Primary to elect flagbearer for the 2028 General Election.
In that regard, Mr Agyapong and all the other four presidential aspirants on Thursday January 22 signed a peace pact, committing themselves to unity, respect for party processes and support for the eventual winner.
They included the former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Abetifi MP and former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr Bryan Acheampong, Bosomtwe MP and former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.
Addressing delegates of the NPP during a campaign tour to the Atebubu/Amantin constituency of the Bono East Region, Naa Torshie Addo, a prominent member of the NPP said that: “Our next flagbearer must be someone who is compassionate, firm true to his words”.
“NPP needs a leader with a kind heart, a man of valor, fearless and courageous”, she told the delegates, saying that: “Ghana also needs a businessman as President to transform our lives”, insisting that among the Presidential hopefuls, Mr Agyapong “fits those qualities because his philanthropic work and unquestionable reputation is glaring for all to see”.
Naa Torshie Addo said the NPP ought to prioritise leadership with integrity and hard work as well as the choice of the masses to be able to regain political power in the Election 2028, saying “majority of the Ghanaian voters now like Kennedy Agyapong”.
She said she was highly confident that with Mr. Agyapong, the NPP would win the Election 2028 and urged the delegates to vote for him in the supreme interest of the party and Ghanaians in general.
