Dambai (O/R), Jan. 14, GNA – The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) office in the Krachi East Municipality has sought the support and collaboration of the Local Council of Churches in disaster mitigation efforts.

At a courtesy engagement with the Council, Mr Jonathan Dzunu, the Municipal Director of NADMO, acknowledged the influential role of churches in the community and expressed the desire to work together to enhance disaster preparedness and response.

“We acknowledge the significant role the church plays in promoting disaster awareness and providing support to affected individuals during emergencies. The Local Council of Churches’ efforts have been instrumental in reducing disaster risks in our communities,” Mr Dzunu said.

Reverend John Padmond, Chairman of the Local Council of Churches, welcomed the initiative and pledged the Council’s support to NADMO when the need arises.

On behalf of the Council, Rev Padmond granted NADMO permission to use church facilities as shelters in case of emergencies.

The partnership is expected to enhance disaster resilience in the Krachi East Municipality and promote a culture of preparedness among communities.
