Accra, Jan. 12, GNA – Medeama SC opened a five-point lead at the top of the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League (GPL) after beating Young Apostles 3–0 at the TnA Stadium.

Fuzy Taylor and Kamaradini Mamudu scored in each half before substitute Prince Owusu added a third to seal the home side’s victory.

Young Apostles, who remain 14th, struggled to threaten and continue to chase their first away win of the campaign.

In Hohoe, Hearts of Oak moved up to fifth on the league table after a stoppagetime winner from Mawuli Wayo.

Wayo struck in the 90+1 minute to cap a dominant performance by the Phobians, who created the better chances throughout.

Hearts goalkeeper Benjamin Asare kept a clean sheet on his return to the starting line-up, while Hohoe captain Usman Safianu wasted the hosts’ best opportunity from close range.

Asante Kotoko were held to a 0–0 draw by Berekum Chelsea in Kumasi. Despite long periods of possession, the Porcupine Warriors could not find a breakthrough and now sit six points behind leaders Medeama.

Bechem United boosted their survival hopes with a 1–0 home win over reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars, with Augustine Okrah scoring the only goal of the match in the first half.

Gold Stars slipped to second following the defeat.

Swedru All Blacks rescued a point with a stoppagetime penalty in a 1–1 draw with Nations FC at the Swedru Sports Stadium. Suweidu Sulemana put Nations ahead late in the second half before Zayat Bubakari equalised from the spot.

Dreams FC recorded one of the weekend’s biggest wins, beating Heart of Lions 3–0 to move into mid-table. John Antwi, Collins Boah and Adams scored for the home side.

Aduana FC came from behind to defeat Karela United 2–1 in Dormaa. After conceding an early own goal, captain Alex Boakye levelled from the penalty spot and substitute Charles Gyamfi Kamara netted the winner in stoppage time.

At the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, FC Samartex 1996 extended their unbeaten home run with a 0–0 draw against Vision FC. The result left Samartex short of a fourth straight home win, while Vision moved up to 12th.
