Juansa (Ash), Jan. 16, GNA – Dr Ben Asante, a former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas, has been enstooled as the paramount new chief of the Juansa traditional area in the Asante Akyem north municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Following his elevation to the revered stool, he has assumed the traditional name Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie II, succeeding the late Nana Osei Kwame Tiatoa.
The historic enstoolment ceremony, held in accordance with age-old Asante customs and traditions, drew a large gathering of traditional rulers, elders, kingmakers, opinion leaders and residents of Juansa.


The atmosphere was one of unity and celebration, reflecting the overwhelming endorsement Dr Asante received from the traditional council and the wider community.
Nana Opamago Kodie’s selection was influenced by his distinguished record in public service and his consistent contributions to education, youth empowerment, and employment creation in the traditional area.
Elders of the Juansa traditional area described him as a visionary and development-focused leader, whose experience is expected to bring renewed momentum to the socio-economic advancement of the traditional area.
In his acceptance address, Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie expressed profound gratitude to the kingmakers, elders and people of Juansa for the confidence reposed in him.
He paid tribute to his predecessor, Nana Osei Kwame Tiatoa, acknowledging his commitment to peace, stability, and development.
The new chief pledged to consolidate existing achievements, while introducing innovative initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
He assured the people of Juansa of his commitment to unity, peace and inclusive development, emphasizing that education, skills development and youth employment would remain top priorities under his leadership.


He also indicated his readiness to use his professional background to attract investment and strategic partnerships to the area.
In line with Asante tradition, Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie II would swear the customary oath of allegiance before the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to formally affirm his position within the Asante Kingdom.
Sub-chiefs of the Juansa traditional council have pledged their full support to the new paramount chief and expressed optimism about the future of Juansa.
They called on natives of the area, both at home and abroad, as well as stakeholders and development partners, to rally behind the traditional council to accelerate development.
The enstoolment of Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie II marks a new dawn for Juansa, with high expectations that his leadership will usher in sustained progress, unity and prosperity for the traditional area.
