Ecobank rewards customers marking 40 years with nationwide promotion

Accra, Jan. 14, GNA — Ecobank Ghana has rewarded thousands of customers nationwide as part of activities marking the 40th anniversary of the Ecobank Group, with a customer appreciation promotion aimed at deepening savings, lending and digital transactions.

Mrs Yaa Kesewaa Nyanor, Head of Direct Banking at Ecobank Ghana, said the initiative was designed to thank customers for their loyalty and active use of the bank’s products and services, including deposits, loans and mobile app transactions.

She explained that the ongoing reward scheme was the second in a series, with a final and grand draw scheduled for February, urging customers who missed the current round to position themselves for the next phase.

“Our focus is to reward customers for doing business with us – for depositing with us, taking loans from Ecobank and transacting on our mobile app,” Mrs Nyanor said.

She outlined that customers qualified by depositing in multiples of 400 cedis, taking loan facilities of about 4,000 cedis, and completing at least four transactions on the Ecobank mobile app. Customers without accounts, he added, could still participate by opening one.

According to her, the promotion would reward more than 3,000 customers, with top prizes including a grand reward of 10,000 dollars for first place, 5,000 dollars for second place, and additional prizes for other winners.

“The final draw will be grand, and the rewards are amazing. We encourage customers to be part of the next 3,000 beneficiaries,” she said.

Mrs Nyanor noted that the promotion also aimed to attract new customers seeking convenient banking solutions, stressing that Ecobank’s digital platfom allowed customers to transact easily without visiting branches.

She, however, cautioned customers against fraudsters attempting to exploit the promotion by impersonating the bank.

“We are aware that some people are calling customers and asking them to submit documents, bank cards or personal details to receive rewards. Ecobank will never do that,” she warned.

She stressed that the bank already had all necessary customer information and would credit winners’ accounts directly, only contacting them if they needed to collect vouchers.

Customers were therefore advised to ignore suspicious phone calls or WhatsApp messages requesting personal details, documents or payments in the name of the promotion.

“Ecobank will do everything and make the payment directly to you,” Mrs Nyanor assured.
