Accra, Jan. 29, GNA – Residents of Anyaa in the Greater Accra Region have commended the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWL), for restoring water supply to the area after a week-long shortage.

The disruption, which began in mid-January 2026, was described as acute and compelled residents to rely on private vendors for potable water.

Residents who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a follow-up visit, expressed relief and gratitude to GWL for the timely resolution of the challenge.

They said water supply had returned to normal and appealed to the company to sustain regular maintenance of its infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

During the height of the crisis, the GNA visited the Weija Water Treatment Plant, the main source of supply to Anyaa and its environs, where officials assured that investigations were underway to address the situation and restore supply to affected communities.
