AfroQuality opens flagship Accra store to boost African brands

Accra, Sept. 26, GNA  ā€“ AfroQuality, a multi-country physical retail and distribution platform for African brands, has opened its flagship store in Accra to expand access to Pan-African markets.

The new outlet, which opened on Friday, September 25, 2026, brings together African fashion, lifestyle and literary brands while providing manufacturers, designers, publishers and artisans with retail infrastructure to access markets across the continent.

A release shared with the Ghana News Agency said the Accra outlet followed the establishment of AfroQuality operations in Kigali, Rwanda; Dakar, Senegal; Nairobi, Kenya; and Lusaka, Zambia, as part of efforts to scale authentic African brands across the continent.

It said the platform provided manufacturers, designers, publishers and artisans with the infrastructure needed to reach regional and global markets.

The Accra flagship store houses a curated portfolio of independent producers across apparel, footwear, accessories and literature.

Ghanaian brands featured at the store include BLKSTAR UTD, Wear Ghana, Love Ankara, Gold Coast Tokota, Cheery Concepts, Horseman, Fish & Plankton Books and Kwadwoan Story Books.

Other African brands include Enda Sports Shoes, Ikojn and Sandstorm from Kenya; Piesco Memory from Togo; Sonia Mugabo from Rwanda; and Aramweer Organics and KELAM from South Sudan.

Mr Saint Doe Tamakloe said AfroQuality sought to build the physical retail infrastructure required to enable African manufacturers to expand across borders.

ā€œBy uniting regional talent in a world-class environment, we are accelerating intra-African commerce while offering consumers an elevated lifestyle space,ā€ he said.

He said the platform allowed businesses to leverage an existing regional network instead of developing separate routes to market in each country.

ā€œInstead of every entrepreneur having to build a new route to market country by country, brands can leverage an existing network to test markets, reach new customers and grow their revenues across borders,ā€ he said.

As part of the opening, clothing brands Wear Ghana and Republic of Africa, as well as footwear and leather apparel brand Horseman, held a pop-up sale at the outlet.

Mr Tonyi Senayah, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Horseman, said the outlet would help address the difficulties African retail businesses faced in expanding beyond their home markets.

ā€œEstablishing a presence in other markets comes with a complex maze of distribution, retail, logistics, market access and other challenges that can be difficult for an individual business to navigate alone,ā€ he said.

He said the partnership had enabled Horseman to establish a presence in other African markets.

ā€œToday, when I’m asked where else Horseman can be found, I can proudly say Kigali, Nairobi and Dakar, through our partnership with AfroQuality,ā€ he said.

Ms Awura Abena Agyeman, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Wear Ghana and Republic of Africa, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying it brought the brands closer to achieving their Pan-African ambitions.
