Akatsi South MP, MCE to embark on sod-cutting events to boost development

Akatsi (VR), Jan. 26, GNA- Mr Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament for the Akatsi South together with Mr Daniel Dagba, the Municipal Chief Executive, would embark on sod-cutting events for several key developmental projects across the Akatsi South Municipality.  

The exercise, expected to see Mr Games Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister in attendance from Thursday to Friday January 30, would help improve healthcare delivery, education, sanitation, water access, and staff accommodation across the Municipality.  

This was announced in a release signed by Mr Isaac Attivor, the Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress in Akatsi South, and copied to the Ghana News Agency.  

It said the two-day exercise would underscore the unwavering commitment of Mr Ahiafor, who doubles as the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and the MCE to accelerate development and improve the living standards of people in Akatsi South.  

“These projects, when completed, will significantly enhance access to quality healthcare, education, potable water, and decent accommodation for teachers and health workers, while reinforcing the government’s development agenda at the grassroots level.”  

Mr Attivor appealed to residents within the area to actively show their participation during the exercise “as we collectively witness another chapter of transformational development in our constituency and believe in the NDC government that we are the only party that develops our beloved Constituency.”  

He also extended their profound gratitude to Mr John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic and Mr Ahiafor for their relentless support.  

The sod-cutting activities would cover communities including the construction of a CHPS Compound with Nurses’ Accommodation at Ahlepedo, construction of a 3-Unit classroom Block with office and Store at Wodome, construction of a CHPS Compound with Nurses’ accommodation, a 6-Unit classroom Block with office, Staff Common Room, and Library at Zuta, construction of a 6-Unit classroom Block with office, Staff Common Room, and Library at Duawodome, and construction of a 2-Unit classroom block with Office and Store at Dzuepe.  

Others would bethe renovation of Wute Health Centre, drilling, and mechanization of 20 boreholes at selected communities including Wute Health Centre, Ahlepedo CHPS Compound, and Avenor Technical Institute.  

The second day of the exercise, the statement said, would also focus largely on major educational infrastructure projects involving the Construction of a 3-Storey Teachers’ Bungalow, a 12-Unit 2-Storey Girls’ Dormitory, a 12-Unit Toilet Facility at Akatsi Senior High Technical School (Akast), construction of a 6-Unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Dzogadze.  

The rest are the construction of a 12-Unit 2-storey classroom block, a 6-Unit workshop at Avenor Technical Institute, and the construction of a 6-Unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Akeve-Gui.
