Accra, Aug. 29, GNA – The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has extended the deadline for the submission of event proposals for the 2026 edition of the “December in GH” to Monday, September 7, 2026.
The extension is intended to give event organisers, promoters, cultural innovators and experience creators, additional time to submit their concepts for consideration for inclusion in Ghana’s premier festive season programme.
A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency, on Friday August 28, said the “December in GH” 2026 calendar would run from December 1, 2026, to January 3, 2027, bringing together culture, creativity, entertainment, heritage and other experiences.
It said the initiative was designed to invite both visitors and Ghanaians to experience the diversity and dynamism of the country during the festive season.
“December in GH” continues to evolve beyond a calendar of events into a nationwide cultural journey, showcasing the many rhythms, stories, flavours, and expressions that make Ghana unique,” the statement said.
The GTA said the initiative had become a defining expression of the “Black Star Experience,” Ghana’s tourism promotion campaign, with a focus on showcasing the country’s rich cultural identity and diverse experiences to domestic and international audiences.
Selected events would form part of the official “December in GH” 2026 programme and would be integrated into the national campaign, the statement said.
It added that selected events would also be amplified through the GTA’s local and international promotional platforms to increase their visibility and reach potential audiences.
The Authority had therefore encouraged interested event organisers and promoters to take advantage of the extended deadline and submit innovative proposals that would contribute to the success of the 2026 festive season.
