Ahanta-West MP settles medical bills of ten patients at Agona-Nkwanta Polyclinic

Agona-Nkwanta (W/R), Jan 30, GNA- Madam Mavis Kuukua-Bissue, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ahanta-West Constituency, has relieved some ten patients at the Agona-Nkwanta Polyclinic by paying for their medical bills. 

The patients, who had received medical attention at the health facility, needed to pay their bills before they were discharged. 

As a result, they were detained at the hospital for non-payment of their bills. 

Madam Kuukua-Bissue who embarked upon a surprised visit to the general ward, paid for their bills after presenting medical equipment and accessories to health facilities and CHPS Compounds in the Ahanta-West Municipality at the Agona-Nkwanta Polyclinic. 

The first time MP said it was proper to assist the poor and needy to access affordable health care delivery to ensure the holistic wellness of people in the Municipality. 

Madam Kuukua-Bissue said the wealth of the people depended on a larger extent, better health conditions. 

She noted that because of money, some patients found it difficult to access health care delivery. 

The MP, therefore, pledged her commitment to health care delivery by equipping hospitals, Health Centres and CHPS Compounds with medical equipment, accessories, infrastructure and health professionals. 

Madam Kuukua-Bissue used the occasion to charge health workers in the area to work harder. 

Municipal Director of the Ghana Health Services, Mr Emmanuel Badiana commended the MP for exhibiting commitment to the plight of patients at the hospital. 

Some of the parent who spoke to GNA, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the MP for coming to their aid.
