Live updates: National Farmers Day 2025

Naab Sierig Sore Sobil IV, the Chief of Pelungu in the Nabdam District, has been adjudged the 2025 Upper East Regional best farmer.


Mr Abraham Kwaku Adusei of Kwahu Afram Plains has been adjudged the Overall National Best Farmer for the year 2025.

The First Runner Up National Best Farmer position went to 48 year old Mr Osumanu Kadri of Greater Accra Region.

Sixty-three-year-old Charles Jato of Oti Region won the Second Runner up National Best Farmer.

The National Best Youth Farmer award went to Mr Reuben Asare of Kintampo North District in the Bono East Region, while the National Best Female Farmer award was taken by Madam Grace Owusua of Ashanti Akyem North District in the Ashanti Region.

The 41st Central Regional Farmers Day celebration is underway in Assin Fosu.

The event features an impressive display of diverse foodstuffs and brings together numerous farmers from five districts across the region.

Also present in full regalia are esteemed traditional and religious leaders from the participating districts, adding a rich cultural dimension to the occasion.

This celebration not only honours the contributions of the farming community but also fosters unity, encourages knowledge exchange and highlights the vital role agriculture plays in the region’s development.
