Gaza, Dec 6, (dpa/GNA) – The Israeli military has killed three Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip, despite the current ceasefire, according to Palestinian reports on Saturday.
Three other people were injured in the drone attack on a group of civilians west of Beit Lahia, Palestinian news agency WAFA said, citing medical sources.
The Israeli military said that in two separate incidents, “several terrorists” crossed the yellow line behind which Israeli troops retreated as part of the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10. Since they posed an “immediate threat,” the troops opened fire and “eliminated three of the terrorists,” the military said on Telegram.
The information provided by both sides could not immediately be independently verified.
Since the ceasefire took effect, there have been repeated isolated fatal incidents in the Gaza Strip.
Operations are continuing to eliminate “any immediate threat,” the military said on Telegram.
