Obuasi (Ash), Dec. 08, GNA – An Obuasi-based philanthropist who has provided a number of social interventions for the indigenes of Adansi traditional area, has given a lifeline to teachers and pupils of Pomposo R/C Primary ‘B’ by rebuilding their school block, affected by destroyed by devastating fire, last year.

Dr. Collins Amo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ‘Aduro Ye’ Herbal Center fame, beyond rebuilding the educational facility, also replaced all items including textbooks, computers, laptops, printers, and TV sets donated to the school, by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, and which were destroyed during the fire outbreak.

Dr Amo, noted for his philanthropic works and community-centered contributions, undertook the full reconstruction of the facility after the school authorities appealed to him for support.

The man, himself an old student of the school, modernised the structure comprising a spacious staff office, washrooms, and a headmaster’s office.

According to him, the gesture aligned with his company’s commitment to improving quality of education in Obuasi.

“As an old student of the school and a good corporate citizen, I decided to come in and rebuild the structure.

I can’t leave everything in the hands of the government alone. We must all support,” he said.

Just two weeks ago, Dr. Amo, through Aduro Ye Herbal Center, donated 5,000 baby diapers to health facilities in Obuasi as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, the Obuasi East Municipal Director of Education, Mr Kwabena Owusu Nketia, commended Dr Amo for his continued investment in education and for supporting meaningful initiatives within the community.

Ms Regina Ocansey, Headmistress of the school expressed gratitude, describing the intervention as timely and lifesaving.

She recounted the severe impact the fire disaster had on teaching and learning over the past year, saying,“We were left helpless after the fire outbreak.

“A year on, we can only say a big thank you to Dr. Collins Amo for coming to our aid,” she said.
