New christian books offer hope to youth struggling with sports betting

By Edward Dankwah

Accra, Dec. 14, GNA- Reverend Emmanuel Opoku Mensah will today launch two separate Christian books that offer hope to youth struggling with sports betting in Accra.

The books are the Trend of Sports Betting and Gaming Among the Youth: A Christian Apologetic Response and 150 Godly Golden Quotes on Sports Betting.

A statement issued in Accra said sports betting had become one of the fastest-growing habits among young people today, leaving many battling addiction, financial losses, guilt, and spiritual confusion.

It said while countless youth were searching for a way out, others simply want to understand what God’s word truly said about the practice.

It said in response to this growing challenge, Rev. Opoku Mensah authored the two timely and transformative books that bring clarity, conviction, and hope to those affected by betting culture.

The statement said the books provide a deeply biblical and practical perspective on why sports betting is not God’s best option for believers.

They blend theological insight, real-life lessons, and spiritual encouragement to help readers break free from destructive patterns or support someone who is struggling.

Rev. Opoku Mensah explained that the inspiration for these books came from observing the silent battles many young people face.

“Countless young people are trapped in cycles of betting, hoping for instant breakthroughs. But true hope, peace, and lasting transformation only come from God’s truth,” he said.

The books address key areas such as the spiritual and psychological impact of betting, biblical principles that guide wise, godly decision-making, practical steps to walk in freedom and empowering truths that help believers renew their minds

The event is expected to bring together church leaders, youth workers, parents, and individuals passionate about tackling the rising influence of sports betting among the youth. It promises to be a moment of inspiration, learning, and spiritual empowerment.
