Krachi East MCE and MP champions nurses’ welfare with decade old bungalow refurbishment

Adumadum (O/R), Dec 2, GNA- Mr Safo Nketia, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, the Member of Parliament (MP) of the Krachi East Constituency have jointly refurbished a decade-old Community-Based Health Planning and Services Compound nurses bungalow, transforming it into a comfortable accommodation for nurses in Adumadum community. 

The refurbished CHP zone bungalow, which had been in a state of disrepair for over 30 years, is a testament to the commitment of the duo to improving the living conditions of healthcare workers in the municipality. 

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the MCE emphasized the importance of prioritizing nurses’ welfare, stating that it was essential for quality healthcare delivery. 

Mr Nketia said the dilapidated health structures were part of their campaign promises and were committed to fulfilling them.   

He added that the municipal assembly recognized the importance of quality healthcare, and they were working tirelessly to ensure that all health facilities met the required standards. 

“We are prioritizing healthcare delivery in Krachi East, and we will continue to work with stakeholders to ensure that our health facilities are well-equipped and staffed to provide quality care to our people”, MCE stressed. 

Mr Djabab emphasized that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party did not deceive people but rather delivered on its promises. 

“The NDC party is a party of action, and we have proven this through our works, we promised to improve healthcare services in Krachi East, and we are delivering on that promise through this refurbished nurses’ bungalow,” the MP added. 

He reiterated the commitment of the NDC government, led by President John Dramani Mahama to improving the health situation for Ghanaians. 

The MP noted that the NDC government, through its Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) and members of parliament (MPs) were working tirelessly to enhance healthcare delivery in the country. 

“The president through his MMDCEs and MPs, were dedicated to ensuring that Ghanaians have access to quality healthcare and we will continue to work towards achieving this goal, ” Djabab stressed. 

The Municipal Health Directorate team, led by Mr Abdul-Muttalib, commended the MCE and MP for their commitment to improving healthcare services in the municipality, saying their efforts will not go unnoticed. 

He added that the refurbished bungalow will go a long way in improving the living conditions of nurses in the community, enabling them to provide quality care to patients. 

Many community members who were engaged by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), praised the authorities for their efforts in renovating the bungalow, saying it is a long overdue development that will benefit the health workers and the community at large. 

“We are very happy that our leaders have finally listened to our pleas and done something about the nurses’ apartment, the accommodation was in a terrible state, but now it looks like a new one, we thanked the MCE and MP for their kindness.
