Ho (V/R), Dec. 18, GNA – The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Team Volta, has donated GHS30,000 to the Ho Teaching Hospital as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at adopting and refurbishing a ward within the facility.
The donation was made on Monday, December 15, during a brief ceremony held at the hospital.
Presenting the cheque, Ms Christina Jatoe-Kaleo, the Regional General Manager of ECG, said the gesture underscored the company’s commitment to supporting quality healthcare delivery in the Volta Region.
She explained that the nature of ECG’s operations made access to prompt and reliable healthcare essential for staff, hence the decision to adopt a ward that would serve as a dedicated facility for ECG employees when the need arises.
“We believe our responsibility goes beyond powering homes and industries. It also includes supporting the wellbeing of our staff and the communities we serve. This is our modest contribution towards strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring our staff have access to medical care when required,” Ms Jatoe-Kaleo stated.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the hospital, Mr George Tetteh, the Director of Administration, who represented the Chief Executive Officer, expressed profound appreciation to ECG for the support.
He described the initiative as thoughtful and timely, and assured the company of the hospital’s readiness to provide quality healthcare services to ECG staff whenever necessary.
“While we pray that none of your staff will fall ill, be assured that we are fully committed to offering them the best possible care should the need arise,” Mr Tetteh said.
Following the presentation, ECG management was taken on a tour of the designated ward to assess its current condition and identify areas requiring refurbishment.

The ward adoption initiative reflects ECG’s strong commitment to employee welfare and its continued partnership with public institutions to improve service delivery in the Volta Region.
