Accra, July 4, GNA – Sheikh Dr Amin Bonsu, the National Chairman of the Ghana Muslim Mission, has called on Allah to grant members of Parliament wisdom, fairness and courage to enact laws that promote the welfare of all Ghanaians.
He also prayed for unity, peace, innovation and prosperity for the nation, asking for divine guidance for the country’s leaders and protection against all forms of misfortune.
Sheikh Dr Bonsu said the prayer for the Legislature during the 2026 National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held in Accra.
Leading the congregation in prayer, he thanked Allah for Ghana’s peace, stability and democratic progress, describing them as blessings that required gratitude and continued divine guidance.
He prayed for Allah’s protection over the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana, asking for blessings upon the Speaker and Members of Parliament, and all those entrusted with the responsibility of making laws for the nation.
“O Allah, grant them wisdom beyond knowledge, sincerity beyond words, and courage beyond fear. Let them deliberate with fairness, justice and legislation for the welfare of all Ghanaians at heart,” he prayed.
Sheikh Dr Bonsu further prayed for Allah to inspire the nation with innovation, creativity and excellence to drive national development.
He sought divine blessings for the youth, asking Allah to endow them with knowledge, vision and goodwill to contribute positively to humanity and the country’s progress.
The National Chairman prayed for Ghana’s leaders and citizens, asking Allah to grant them long life, good health, prosperity, righteous deeds and a good ending.
“I ask Allah to protect the nation and its people from every form of misfortune.”
The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving was on the theme: “Resetting our values to build the Ghana we want”.


As part of the interfaith programme, Alhaji Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salil, Ameer and Missionary-in-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, led prayers for the Executive.
Zaeem Sheikh Abdul Wadud Haruna, President of the Tijjaniya Movement in Ghana, offered prayers for the Judiciary, while Sheikh Abubakar Ahmad Kamaludeen, National Imam of the Shia Community in Ghana, prayed for the youth.
The event formed part of national efforts to seek divine guidance, strengthen unity and reaffirm the country’s commitment to peace, good governance and national development.
