Sunyani (Bono), Dec. 08, GNA – The Chartered Institute of Human Resource (HR) Management (CIHRM) Ghana, has launched its Sunyani chapter to ensure a major boost for Human Resource professionals in the Bono Region.
The exciting development provides a platform for HR practitioners to network, grow, and develop their skills.
The launch was accompanied by the inauguration of a six-member interim executive committee, tasked with steering the chapter’s affairs and driving its growth.
The newly appointed interim executive comprised seasoned HR professionals, including Mr Elijah Ofori-Badu as President, Miss Juliet Obenewa as Vice Chairperson, Ms Kate Affram, Secretary and Centre Coordinator, Ms Sylvia Nartey as Treasurer, Mr Bright Ampofo as Organiser, and Mr Nicholas Oppong as Public Relations and Marketing Officer.
Dr Francis Eduku, the Chief Executive Officer of CIHRM at the programme emphasised the importance of integrity, empathy, and servant leadership in guiding the chapter’s activities.
He cautioned against leaders who may dictate irrelevant matters to their members, urging members to report such instances to the Institute for necessary action.
Dr Eduku highlighted the significance of regional chapters in driving the Institute’s growth, noting that the Accra chapter is currently leading the way.
He expressed confidence in the Sunyani chapter’s potential, stating, “The Accra chapter is currently leading, but from what I have seen here, you have the potential, and I want you to become one of the strongest chapters in the country.”
The Institute is committed to supporting the Sunyani chapter, with plans to organize training and development programs to equip members and strengthen their respective chapters, Dr Eduku said and encouraged HR personnel to actively engage with the Institute, emphasising that HR is a leadership role that requires a deep understanding of organisational strategy.
Mr Ofori-Badu, the President of the Sunyani chapter, called for collaboration among all members to ensure the chapter becomes one of the most vibrant in the country.
He pledged to work tirelessly to promote the Institute’s objectives and support the growth of HR professionals in the region.
