Apostle Dr Ansah urges peace among Ghanaians

By Iddi Yire

Accra, Dec 24, GNA – Apostle Dr Samuel Vincent Ansah, Chairman of the Ghana National Council of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI), has wished Ghanaians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2026.
He urged citizens to be grateful to God for the peace of the nation and His preservation
throughout the year.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Apostle Dr Ansah gave glory to God for seeing
the country through 2025 successfully.
In his Christmas message, he said: “It is time to celebrate the birth of God’s unspeakable gift to
mankind: Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour! Jesus’ birth, life and death on the cross, all
sanctioned by God, constitutes the highest expression of God’s love to man. Encapsulated in the gift of Jesus is the peace of God.”

He recalled that on the first Christmas, the angels heralding Jesus’ birth sang: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favour rests.”

Apostle Dr Ansah described the message of the baby Jesus as the greatest message of God to humanity.

He explained that anyone who heeds the message of Christ and responds to God’s calling would enjoy His peace.

He reiterated the importance of peace with God, inner peace, and peace with fellow man, stressing: “Peace is an existential priority.”

Quoting scripture, he said Christians are exhorted to live in peace with all men and to make requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving for everyone – for kings and all in authority – so that society may live peaceful and quiet lives in godliness and holiness. He warned that failure to do so could endanger existence.

Apostle Dr Ansah noted that peace was scarce in today’s world, citing the 2025 Global Peace
Index (GPI), which reveals a continuing decline in global peacefulness, with indicators preceding major conflicts at their highest since World War II.

He said current global events mirror Jesus’ prophecy of the Last Days:… “Nation will rise
against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places; and within nations, anguish and perplexity.”

He stressed that Ghana has been blessed with peace and urged citizens to do everything possible to protect it.

Citing the Global Peace Index (GPI), Apostle Dr Ansah noted that Ghana’s peacefulness ranking has been deteriorating, currently standing at 61st in the world.

“The latest ranking follows a downward trajectory from 55th in 2024, 51st in 2023, and 40th in 2022,” he said.

“Let us halt the decline. Let us develop a culture of peace. This festive time, it is imperative for us to make time to pray for peace; talk peace; act peace and live peace!” the Chairman stated.
