Two Palestinians killed approaching Israeli troops in Gaza

Gaza, Nov 10, (dpa/GNA) – A further deadly incident shook the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Monday, as the Israeli military said its troops had killed two Palestinians who posed a threat.

The Hamas-controlled civil defence in the coastal region, reported the two deaths in an Israeli attack near the southern city of Khan Younis, including that of a minor.

Two Palestinians approached soldiers who then “eliminated the terrorists, in order to remove the threat,” an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) statement said.

They allegedly crossed the so-called yellow line behind, which the Israeli military had withdrawn under the ceasefire of October 10.

There have been similar incidents in recent weeks. According to Gaza’s Hamas-controlled health authority, more than 240 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began.

The IDF said its troops would continue to operate, to remove any immediate threat to their safety.

More than 69,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed in the Gaza war, which began in October 2023, although the number cannot be independently verified.
